Guimarães is a medieval city, full of History and symbolism, which has preserved its historic city centre and its public areas with balance and charm. So, in 2001, it proudly received the classification of World Heritage. The two first days will be spent discovering Guimarães and its secrets. On the third day, the destination will be Porto, 50 kms from Guimarães.

Porto is closely connected to the river Douro which gives him part of its beauty and its famous product – the Port Wine -, as well as its commercial and cosmopolitan character. The historic city centre of Porto, including the medieval part of the city, the Luis I bridge, the Port Wine Cellars and the Convent at Serra do Pilar were added to the list of World Heritage sites, in 1996.

In the evening, the trip continues till Régua, at the heart of the Douro, which is not only a river, but also a demarcated wine region and a living entity with its own personality. The vineyards of the Douro Valley, World Heritage since 2001, are the oldest wine region in the world and it has been sculpted by several generations, becoming a true piece of Art. On the fourth day, you will go to the Archaelogical Park of Foz Côa Valley to admire its carvings, classified by UNESCO in 1998. It’s a fantastic open air museum whose vitality and art is 25000 years old.
